Nowhere else in the world is gun control a political and social fixture as it is in the United States. Standing in stark contrast to most of the lower 48 states, are large cities such as New York City where gun ownership is rare. Being originally from Singapore where gun ownership is illegal while mandatory conscription trains all male citizens in the use of firearms, the social constructs of gun control and the 2nd Amendment in the United States have always intrigued me. In choosing this topic I hope to discover what all this means to New Yorkers who actively exercise their 2nd Amendment rights, in spite of the strict regulations and legal red-tape.
